Screen Mount for Wideangle Mirror
Screen Mount for Wideangle Mirror

A few people have asked for a mount for wide Longacre-style mirrors. Graham tested these and got them to work for me, for which I’m super-grateful. He bonded them to the screen with epoxy, as VHB just isn’t up to the job.
This from Graham: “I bonded the brackets to the inside of the windscreen using gorilla epoxy resin and it is solid as a rock with fantastic visibility. The only thing is that you need to mock up the fitting before committing! To get the angle right, I had to bend the brackets on the back of the mirror and because of the angle of the windscreen, the shorter bracket needs bonding on lower than the longer brackets so that the mirror is level. It becomes obvious when you mock it up. I’d fit them temporarily with some double sided tape so you can get it exactly where you want it, then mark around the brackets with masking tape. Leave the tape on when you resin the 3D printed bits to the screen and hey presto.
For the nuts and bolts, I used knurled finger bolts from ACCU like this and with the matching nuts https://www.accu.co.uk/shop/precision-components/precision-screws/hand-screws/thumb-screws/knurled-thumb-screws-din-464?Finish=Matte+Black.
Hopefully you’ll sell lots as it is a massive upgrade for those without a roll cage to mount a mirror to.”
